THERMAL PACKAGING LINERS
DISPOSAL INFO
Thermal liners are a type of packaging material that are designed to insulate items during shipping. They are an increasingly more common replacement for Styrofoam(c).
Paper based thermal liners are recyclable, as long as they are made entirely of paper and/or a mix of paper and dissolvable starch-based foam (to test, run a small portion under water - if it melts, it’s starch-based).
Recyclable thermal liners can go in single-stream recycling at all of our transfer stations, or in mixed paper at Stowe.
Thermal liners that are made of mylar or other types of plastic belong in the trash.
Read on for examples of recyclable vs. non-recyclable liners.
