Changes at the Stowe Transfer Station

As of Wednesday, December 18th the flow of drop off has changed at the Stowe Transfer Station.

Bulky items, commercial trash, and C+D are accepted in the large trash compactor at the top of the transfer station, and non-bulky household trash is accepted in our new compactor in the lower recycling building.

Clear signage and traffic instructions are posted; we appreciate your kindness and patience as we introduce this new change.  

The LRSWMD Stowe Transfer Station is no longer a redemption center. Cans and bottles are accepted for donation ONLY.

All operations, including the collection of donations, are overseen by the

GUIDELINES FOR DONATIONS

-VT redeemable containers ONLY.
-Containers must be clean, empty, and dry.
-Containers must be in bags.
-Unbagged materials will go into single-stream recycling and recycling fees will apply.
