CONTAINERS (EMPTY, PREVIOUSLY HELD HAZARDOUS WASTE)
DISPOSAL INFO
Please, not in your blue bin! Harmful residues that remain in hazardous waste containers are dangerous to workers at the Material Recovery Facility (the facility where single stream recycling is sent to be sorted) and should never be disposed of with your recycling.
EMPTY containers that once contained hazardous waste (i.e. materials labelled with any of the following terms: “Poisonous,” “Corrosive,” “Reactive”, “Flammable”, “Caution”, “Danger”, or “Warning”) should be recapped when disposed of with household trash. Click here to learn more about determining whether a material is considered hazardous waste.
Containers still containing hazardous materials should be brought to a household hazardous waste collection event.
Please note that empty containers are not returned at hazardous waste collection events.
COST
Regular household trash fees apply.
