Most types of cardboard must be recycled in your blue bin. Please flatten it before putting it in the bin.
At our Stowe location, we accept corrugated* (two-sided and ribbed in the middle, like most shipping boxes) cardboard in a separate location than the rest of recyclables. This allows us to bale all cardboard together and to send it directly to a processor, saving the step of traveling to the MRF (materials recovery facility) in Williston and then traveling to a cardboard processor from there. This reduces our overall carbon footprint. Other cardboard (cereal boxes, etc.) can go with regular recycling.
