What is Lamoille Soil?
Lamoille Soil is a regional organics collection program and local composting facility. In partnership with the Village of Johnson and with financial support from the Northen Borders Regional Commision, the Lamoille Regional Solid Waste Management District has created Lamoille Soil to capture local, resource-rich organic materials. The processing facility is right here in Johnson, VT where a long-dormant compost facility has been repurposed to compost up to six tons of food scraps per week!
When you bring your food scraps to any LRSWMD Drop-off Location, you keep valuable resources local and close the loop on the local food system in the Lamoille Region. The best part? Your compostable materials will be converted into a nutrient-rich Compost to Grow With helping to feed local soils and grow healthy food to feed people in our community. You will be able to purchase the high-quality finished compost and use it on your own gardens and lawns. We will also work with member towns to use it in municpal projects.
You are invited to Grow With Us by bringing your food scraps, recycling and waste to any LRSWMD Drop-Off Location. Take all your waste to one handy place!
Thanks for making Compost to Grow With.
